Bonnie Lewkowicz

Bonnie Lewkowicz is a wheelchair user, disability rights activist and co-founder of AXIS Dance Company. She leads two websites for adventurous and accessible travel. 

Nominator: “Most of her change making has been done behind the scenes through educating businesses about customer service and accessibility and holding them accountable to providing and increasing access. In 2009 she was involved in a precedent setting ADA lawsuit against Hotels.com that ultimately resulted in the company including access filters as part of their search function… In 2017 she joined forces with Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program and in this new capacity she continues to mostly volunteer … to ensure that park and recreation … improve access for people with disabilities.”

Zachary Umar-Durr from Artful Steps is an accomplished artist who works with a wealth of mediums, including graphite, acrylic, watercolor, printmaking, and digital art.  His keen eye is unmatched and he is currently pursuing an education in graphic design and digital art.
